Surely she’ll blow his keto, low sugar, low-carb mince pies out of the water with her chocolatey creations?Except filming for the Cook Off turns out to be anything but sugar, spice and all things nice when the contestants realise there’s a festive saboteur in their midst – leading to melted ice cream, trifle mishaps and private stories leaked to the press. As the countdown to the final commences, suspicions run high and sparks are bound to fly – and not just from the flaming Christmas puddings!Part of the Spotlight series but it can be read as a standalone story.
I love the Great British Bake Off, Sugar Rush, Nailed It and all the baking shows that follow so the idea of a book based on this with possible contestant sabotage, count me in, I’m pretty sure you’ll be drawn by this too, it sounded such fun and intriguing too.
I loved the history of the rivalry/angst between Bea and Charlie, the Chocolate Queen versus the Health Machine I loved how they have to work together, get beyond their pasts, their judgements of one another and come together. It really is a great story, deals with serious issues and shows such growth of the pair. So heartwarming.
This is a fun read, with great character chemistry, a slow burn romance (which are my favourite) and I fully recommend this to any romance fans, bake off fans and those who love a great read.
