Happy Endings at Mermaids Point by Sarah Bennett

Synopsis

Music sensation Aurora Storm finally has her career back on track, but then she’s caught up in a media storm. Desperate to distract from the story, she enlists the one man she trusts to pretend to be her boyfriend.

Meanwhile, in the small seaside village of Mermaids Point, Nick Morgan never expected to see Aurora again. When she calls out of the blue needing his help, he agrees at once. It feels like she’s back in his life for a reason, and he’s determined to make the most of it.

Aurora joins Nick and the rest of his family for their festive celebrations and, as the snow falls, Aurora finds herself caught up in the romance of Christmas. But having tasted worldwide fame, can she ever be content with village life?

Two weeks is all Nick has to prove to Aurora that there’s a happy ending for them both in Mermaids Point.

Review

It’s bittersweet coming to the end of a series I’ve really enjoyed, but I am always filled with the knowledge that Sarah will be bringing more new books to me in another wonderful community, so I only have good things to look forward to.

So I should start by saying how much I enjoyed this, although sad it’s ending, what a way to go out, although this is a series, these can be read as stand-alone and don’t need to have read the previous books, but you get so much more out of them if you do.

I loved Nick and Aurora’s story, as always Sarah writes such gorgeous characters and I loved the focus on social media, the obsessiveness and the backlash showing how easily it can destroy someone. Nick is just everything, so supportive, patient, I just loved him and his family so much. I won’t say much more as don’t want to spoil anything, but it’s just a delight to read and such a lovely story.

If you want a story that includes Christmas, family, community, second chances, hope and of course, love then this book is for you. If you don’t enjoy these things, I bet you don’t believe in Father Christmas, the tooth fairy and don’t think kittens and puppies are cute, are you even human 🤣🤣

Thanks to Sarah Bennett, Boldwood Books and Rachel’s Random Resources for a free ebook in exchange for an honest review, all opinions are my own and freely given.
