The Gatehouse Café

Vivien leads a double life. A happy one the world sees, and a miserable one that’s hidden away. Nobody knows what goes on in her home once she has closed up the café for the day. She doesn’t think anyone will believe that her partner is a horrible person, especially as he is a

policeman.

Finn has been secretly in love with Vivien since he was a teenager, but she’s only ever viewed him as a friend. When he discovers she’s in trouble at home, he does everything in his power to help set her free, because even if she never falls in love with him, she’s still his best friend, and she needs help.

Review

I love KT Dady books because as well as being brilliant and entertaining, they also are my secret therapy, they are emotional and therapeutic to me and I love that they always make me feel better about the world, even when highlighting serious issues.

This book particularly made me very emotional reading it, with Vivian’s story there were quite a few tears for me as it moved me very much, Finn is such a fantastic friend, because that’s what he is most of all, regardless of his love for her he’s the best friend you could want in your life.

I love the family focus too in the Pepper Bay books and I particularly loved Finn’s relationship with his, so lovely and relatable. I should mention although It’san emotional read and I needed tissues, there is still humour, lightheartedness and joy in these pages too and as always with The Pepper Bay books I come out of the pages in a better mood.

If you’re looking for an emotional, dramatic, engaging and heartwarming story look no further, this can be read as stand-alone and be enjoyed without reading previous books in the series. (But why would you want to deprive yourself of so many more hours of reading !)

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Author Bio

Hello, I’m K.T. Dady. I’m the bestselling author of the Pepper Bay series. I’m also a chocolate lover, mum to a grown-up daughter, and a huge fan of a HEA. I was born and raised in the East End of London, and I’ve been happily writing stories since I was a little girl. When I’m not

writing, I’m reading, baking cakes, or pottering around in my little garden in Essex, trying not to kill the flowers.
